Marvin and Penelope Rushing founded the first VICI Beauty School, located at Hampton Avenue and Highway 100, in 1969. Twenty-three years later, in 1992, they opened their first salon, located in Brookfield. Their second school, The VICI Aveda Institute opened in Greenfield in 2004, along with their second salon and accompanying spa: VICI Capilli Salon and Spa, which shares the same location.

In their first move outside of the greater Milwaukee area, the Rushings opened the Aveda Institute VICI in Madison in 2009.

Finally, later that summer, the original VICI Beauty School relocated to Bayshore Town Center in Glendale and a third professional salon was added to the VICI family.

So, as it stands today, VICI consists of three beauty schools, three salons and one spa. The Hampton Avenue location remains as our Corporate headquarters, warehouse, and advanced training center.

Simply pronounced “V.C.”. VICI Capilli takes its name from the Latin definition, meaning “to conquer hair.” You'll find that today, the VICI family does a lot more than just give you the good hair days you seek.

Together the Rushings have built a business that includes a dedicated team of experienced instructors, students, and cosmetologists, trained in all aspects of hair, skin, nail esthetics and related sciences.
